STRUT YOUR CUTS WEEK # 8

Well another week has gone by I cant believe how fast the year is going. Mandy has changed a few things for the Strut Your Cuts Challenge so hop on over to Scrappy-Go-Lucky and see what she has done.
I have 3 of the cartridges this week, Ornamental Iron, Designer's Calendar and Heritage.
I have used Heritage for the whole layout apart from the word March which is from Designer's Calendar.
The corner flourishes are on page 62, the Lamp on page 41 and I have used the shadow feature to give them a bit more depth and I think it gives the lamp a slight glow. This paper is from a DCWV The Lace & Linen Stack which I have had for a few months and thought it suited the older wedding photo's of my Mum and Dad.
I have used the the Fence on page 44, cutting it out twice so I could mount it onto the page, and the small flourish is page 63. I have added some Kaiser Pearls and Prima Flowers just to bling it up a little.
Here is it as a double page layout,
What a coincidence that they were married in 1956 and this year will be celebrating 56 years of marriage.
I hope that I will be able to do the same sort of layout for my husband and myself when we celebrate 56 years of marriage.
Enjoy Shelley

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 16 Frame It

I have been waiting patiently for my New Dies that I ordered from Cheery Lynn with my $20 Voucher that I won on Challenge 13 Sweethearts, of course I had to add a little extra money to get both dies. I actually received them this week DL184 Sophia's Heart and DL183 Oval Doily Stacker One. So I have done two projects this time for this weeks Challenge Frame It 16 as I just love the stacker dies you can do so much with them, I have made a frame buy cutting the middle out of the second size die with the smaller one.
I have actually put this one in an oval frame that I picked up from a store and just painted it white that way instead of a card they can put it on the wall and show it of.
Just a close up of the flowers that I used, Cuties 1- B149, Cuties 2- B150, Cuties 3-B151, The leaves are from DL 137 Japanese Lace and Flourish Frame.
My next project is a card all done in my favourite colour PINK
In this card I have used all 3 of the dies in Oval Doily Stacker Dies DL 183 to create a frame around the little Kaiser stamp and added some pretty flowers in the corners.
Well I am of to run a few errands although I would rather been home on my craft room making lots of cards and scrapbooking its just the weather for it here in Brisbane.
Till next time Shelley

Sketches with a Twist February

This is the layout for Sketches with a Twist for the month of February,
This Months Twist is :- You must use something Green on your Layout or Card

So here is my layout for the sketch, its another addition to my album from my mini holiday at Caloundra with my mum and dad.
A close up of the banner and I have used a Martha Stewart around the page punch for the border of a 12 x 12 sheet of cardstock then just cut out the inside to make it look like a frame.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 15 Pink and White

Now this was an easy one to do over at Cheery Lynn as PINK is my favourite colour.
So here goes with the list of the Dies that I have used, the background is done with Daisy Lace Frame FRM118, it usually has a border around it but I have cut it of so it would fit the bag. I then used Tropical Flourish B 127, putting some foam mounting tape at the back to lift the leaves up a little.
The white flower is Stacker Flower 3  SF#3 cut out twice and then the pink is Stacker Flower 2 SF#2 cut out a few times and I have used the Nestabilities Die Scalloped Circles in two sizes to make the flowers smaller so I could layer them.
And then I have used the Heart to Heart Lace Doily DL 106, Inking the edges a little and then I used foam mounting tape again to lift the smaller heart up.
I have repeated the same patter on both sides of the little bag.
I hope you like this one Cheers Shelley.

STRUT YOUR CUTS WEEK # 7

Well here is a really quick post of my pages for the challenge this week, over at Scrappy-Go-Lucky I didn't have any of the Cartridges so I had to fall back on George, Accent Essential and Plantin Schoolbook.
I am doing a smaller album its a really old size "5 x 7" from Creative Memories so it really doesn't have much space to decorate, when its finished i will be giving it to my Mum and Dad.
These are the first two pages,
Then the second set of pages
These are in the album side by side and that's why the sun is cut in half.

Just Magnolia and LAngler & sTanglar Challenge Blog

Well I made this card for a friend of mine who's two daughter's are getting married within a few weeks of each other. I didn't realise it would be exactly what the challenge is over at Just Magnolia.

Challenge 143 # - pink pearls and lace, so I thought what the heck I will put it on the site and see how I go.
I have used my nestabilities dies and of course Magnolia Stamp Lady Tida to look like a bride. Docrafts have some gorgeous pink and blue 6x6 paper pads with matching paper flowers at the moment so I chose these to use as well.
Yes it's another easel card, just so easy to make.
Close up of the flowers that match the paper pads.
The first wedding is on Wednesday this week so good luck to the Bride and Groom and all of the family, we hope the weather is kind to you.
Cheers Shelley

The Hearts in the middle are from Two of Hearts DL128, the flowers are different sizes of Large Rose B155, Medium Rose B154 and Miniature Rose B152. I have used the Dancing Doily Lace Border DL134 on the bottom of the card and then added the flourishes from the middle of the Die Japanese Lace & Flourish Frame DL137. Thanks to Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky ( this link will take you straight to them) for having all these gorgeous dies in her store for us to buy.

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 13 Sweethearts

I made this Quad Easel Card for my best friend's Mum's 70th Birthday. We always have a little giggle between all of us that I am the third daughter she never had. We have been best friends and used to live next door to each other for over 40 years so really they are my Family.
I decided I would enter this card in the Cheery Lynn Sweethearts Challenge and it was only because I realised at the last minute that I have used all Cheery Lynn Dies to make the card. Go and visit Mandy at Scrappy-go-Lucky as she carries lots of the Cheery Lynn Dies.
Its a little hard to take photos to actually do the card justice but here we go, this is looking down onto the card,
One view from side on
